This is a distorted intro based on the Battlefield 3 intro made by EA DICE. I included the EA/DICE logos for reference only. The background sound comes from the official intro video when starting the game (consoles) or loading the Campaign (PC).

So, it’s been a while ago… Sorry for that. I’ve been really busy.

Anyways, this is a little quick project I’ve had for the past few days. Spent sometime with photo shooting, getting the right angle and such. Then I had to come up with an idea. I’ve taken some inspiration from Battlefield 3, Medal of Honor Warfighter and Modern Warfare 3. I think you can see the resemblance!

The left picture, feel free to use it as your wallpaper. That is its intention! As for the picture to the right… Do whatever you want with it. Try make your own art!

I bring you the M16A4 Assault Rifle. I’ve gone for a Battlefield 3 design, such as the stock wrap etc. The model is based on my own airsoft rifle, with a few tweaks to make it look more like the real steel.

This has taken me about 2 months to model and texture. It consists of approximately 4.1 million polygons, very highly detailed mesh. Proportions are 1:1, using real life authentic references.

The lighting setup is an HDR image as seen in the background, coming from the DOSCH: Desert & Dawn pack. Other than that, there is a VraySun being projected from the HDR’s sun position to render direct shadowing. This combined with some Photoshop work for contrast/brightness adjustments etc.

I chose to go for a dirty approach, since that conveys where and how a soldier has used the weapon. In the future, I am hoping to make a soldier character for this rifle.

This is the second version of a fan made loading screen for Battlefield 3. Initially I was only going to design the Map Briefing page. However, after requests, I also made a menu with other stats to view. A few changes has been made from the previous concept and this is probably the final one.

Unlike the first version, I have mainly used Adobe After Effects CS5. Only a very few minor details have been dealt with in Photoshop, because they could not be made in AE. The first version was totally dependent on Photoshop and the project file was a complete mess. This was fixed by doing, basically, everything in After Effects instead.

This is a loading screen I have worked on. It’s fan made, and meant to replicate good the old Battlefield 2′s loading screen (as well as end screen), while keeping Battlefield 3′s HUD design.

And of course, who doesn’t want to play a New York map!

Also, notice the Easter egg for all the lovely Battlefield 2 Veterans…

This is a model that never got finished. The reason to that is because I found a new modeling workflow and did not want to continue with this project using an old and not so promising workflow. Check out my M16A4 Assault Rifle, it’s the same rifle basically. But this time a finished model!
